Polaris ranger 900 turns over but wont start.

On a 900 XP the fuel tank is under the driver's seat. Lift the seat, turn the key on and listen for a high pitched whining noise coming from the tank. If it's working the sound will only last a couple of seconds until the fuel pressure builds up and the relay cuts it off.Look in from the drivers side, you will see a red wire connected to the starter. Pull the little rubber cover back, connect small jumper cable, then touch the other side to the POS on the battery. This will eliminate any safety or switches. If you want it to start, turn the key to run before you spin the starter.2010 Ranger 800 EFI no start. RD/BL wire to coil, injectors and fuel pump drops from 12 volts to 0 when key on. I tested the RD/BL wire at the fuse panel and it shows 12 volts when key turned on then drops to 0. I switched relays and no change. If you have a mechanics stethoscope ( or piece of wood, long screwdriver) put it on the motor case, on the passenger side. Have someone crank it while you listen. Good luck - the module (4060188 CUTOFF,12V,ALT.OPR,LR-50) was only used in 1999 and series 10 Rangers - it has been obsolete for 15 years with no replacement being offered. Have to find a used one or have it backwards engineered by a good electronics tech. The wire that is shorting out is on the right side down by the front axle shaft by the gearcase. The spinning of the axle has wore through the coating on the wire and was direct shorting it.
